The AGG1 Academy & Expo, co-located with the World of Asphalt Show & Conference, ran March 25-27, at the Nashville Music City Center in Tennessee – and the event was a huge success.
Held two out of every three years (it is not held during ConExpo-Con/Agg years), AGG1 is the aggregates industry’s leading exposition and education resource. AGG1 features in-depth industry-focused educational programming and comprehensive exhibits that showcase the latest technologies and innovations in aggregates-related equipment, products and services.
With more than 400 exhibitors and more than 200,000 sq. ft. of exhibits, the 2024 show was the biggest in its history. “AGG1 brings the asphalt and aggregates industries together to showcase the latest products and innovations all in one place,” said Show Director Brittany Schmidtke.

CDE showcased its “Window to the World” using cutting-edge technology to present its solutions and projects virtually, providing viewpoints otherwise not possible. Using CDExplore, visitors embarked upon 360 virtual site tours of numerous projects, being digitally transported across the United States and beyond. The CDE SmartTech app was also available to explore. Developed as part of CDE’s commitment to customer care excellence, the plant management app enables operators to understand their plant’s performance, schedule maintenance and easily order parts – from anywhere, at any time. Available 24/7, it enables operators, managers, and owners to make informed decisions to increase productivity, improve operational efficiency and maximize up-time.
McLanahan Corp. continued its long-standing presence at AGG1. Visitors learned more about the company’s line of equipment for virgin aggregate, C&D material and more. Visitors also talked to McLanahan sales and process experts about how the company can provide complete systems, as well as a wide range of components that the be fitted to existing systems. Whether for a greenfield or brownfield site or for reutilizing and recovering aggregates from a C&D application, McLanahan offers a full spectrum of feeding, crushing, scrubbing, washing, classifying and tailings management solutions.
The Wirtgen Group presented a cross section of its sustainable technologies for the entire road construction process chain at this year’s AGG1/World of Asphalt show. In addition to the 13 exhibits, the highlights at the booth shared by the Wirtgen Group and John Deere also included a special presentation of the Operations Center for construction machines. For the materials-processing sector, the Wirtgen Group brought the Kleemann MOBIREX MR 110i EVO2 impact crusher to Nashville, a machine that is often seen working together with the 744 P-Tier wheel loader from John Deere, which was also seen at the show.
